Starting payment at Gydansky gas field auction set at 2 bln rbl
MOSCOW, Apr 10 (PRIME) -- The starting payment at an auction for a license to develop the Gydansky gas field in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District has been set at 2 billion rubles, according to a government order released on Monday.
The auction is scheduled to take place in 2017.
The license conditions include an obligation to use the resource base of the deposit to produce liquefied natural gas (LNG) at the existing and future capacities in the autonomous district.
Novatek plans to launch the first stage of its Yamal LNG project in 2017. The company also plans to build the Arctic LNG-2 plant on the Gydan Peninsula.
The Gydan deposit is located 600 kilometers away from the city of Salekhard, the reserves are qualified as large.
